3. Import inventory from SigmaNest

On occasion, when first beginning to use the integration from Tekla PowerFab to SigmaNest, or when some nesting has been performed in SigmaNest outside of the integration, SigmaNest may contain inventory and remnants that did not originate through the integration. Follow these steps to bring that inventory in to Tekla PowerFab and make it available to the integration for use in nesting.

Export Inventory From SigmaNest

From SigmaNest, open the Sheet List.

Select plates to import to Tekla PowerFab (plates not selected will not be included if you export Selected Plates).

Click Print.

Check the box beside Tekla PowerFab Inventory Detail (don't see it? Set it up here.)

Choose whether to export all or selected sheets (we recommend selected)

Click Export.

Save it as an HTML document.

Import Inventory to Tekla PowerFab

Open Tekla PowerFab Inventory, and Choose Inventory > Import > Inventory from HTML from the menu.

Select the file created by SigmaNest.

The inventory will be added to Tekla PowerFab and a link created from Tekla PowerFab to SigmaNest so that this piece can be used in nests. Inventory items that are detected as already present within Tekla PowerFab will be added to or updated, but not reduced in quantity or deleted. Double clicking the inventory item line will show the image SigmaNest generated of it's shape.
