Tekla EPM 2019i release notes

Welcome to Tekla EPM 2019i! You can download the new version here.

Check below for information on the new features and improvements in this version:

IFC file import improvements in Estimating

From Tekla EPM 2019i onwards, re-importing updated IFC files into estimating jobs now updates existing items based on matching GUIDs. Previously, imported IFC files were always added as new items in estimates.

You can also map the IFC property sets to fields in an estimating job. For example, you can import a user-defined attributes (UDAs) from Tekla Structures and map them as labor codes or estimate extras.

Customizable mapping of weld types

From Tekla EPM 2019i onwards, the Weld Type Maintenance dialog box allows you to customize the mapping of weld types when they are imported into the Estimating module. In practice, this means that you can define exactly to which weld types the welds in imported IFC models should be mapped.

To access the Weld Type Maintenance dialog box:

  1. Click the Maintenance ribbon tab.

  2. In the menu, select Estimating > Labor Maintenance > Weld .

  3. While in the Weld Maintenance dialog box, click the Weld Maintenance ribbon tab.

  4. In the menu, select Weld Type Maintenance.

To customize the mapping of weld types:
  1. In the Weld Type Maintenance dialog box, select a weld type.

  2. Type the welds that you want to map to the weld type in the Weld Type Mapping field.

Remember to type different welds on separate lines.

Import improvements in Production Control

When you import XML files to the Production Control module in Tekla EPM 2019i or a newer version, Tekla EPM renames items based on matching GUIDs. The renaming works for both entire items and partial quantities, such as new main marks or piece marks. The names of renamed items are also updated in related tracking information, linked requisitions or inventory, and cut lists.

The Test Import option has also been improved. When you import files to the Production Control module, clicking Test Import now shows the full effect of the import without actually making changes. This means that you can preview the entire import process, instead of just seeing the issues that were found.

Separate accessory part finishes in Production Control

In production control jobs, you can now set finishes for accessory parts separately from the main member. If an accessory has a different finish than the main member, changing the finish of the main member will not affect the accessory part.
